What information do you have to tell dealership when trading in car?

I had minor damage to rear bumper and had it repaired. It looks brand new. No accident report was filed. Do I have to report this repair when trading my car in?

i dont think so, it is up to them to determine the status of your car, just like if you were buying a car from a private dealer, it is sold “as-is”.
i wouldnt divulge anything about it, it is up to them if they think there is a problem with the way it looks.
if they offer you less because of something that you fixed, then i would show proof that you fixed, but i would leave it at that with a dealer.

no, if it’s just the bumper it doesn’t matter.

What would you think if the dealer was the one hiding the damage? As a car dealer, I see this every day. Do what you would want them to do for you. At our dealership, we make the customer sign a trade disclosure that asks questions about the odometer and any accidents…it would bite you if you lied to us.

Dealers don’t tell you everything they know about their cars…why shoot yourself in the foot and tell them everything you know about yours.
